Foresight is expected, but not required when committing to a long day where gas stations are sparse. Also it is to be noted that not all gas stations have Diesel. We nearly learned this the hard way as we crept into a gas station on our last reserves thinking we were good only to find out that the next diesel was another 20 minutes down the road, even though it was mostly uphill... We discussed our options and eventually decided to push to the next station knowing that our good friend Kaya, in Thunder bay would help us if we needed. Thankfully we made it, though I would have bet against it. Kaya then showed us around the bars of Thunder Bay and when McDonalds was not open for us, a friendly hot dog stand was there to satisfy our midnight hunger.
