December 7th
New Orleans! In the morning we chatted with our neighbour, an off season carney traveling in his van. He told us that New Orleans is a great place, but there are some very bad areas and luckily the Walmart we are parked at is not a bad one. Decided now was the time to make some curtains for our windows when we leave. Mostly since so people won't be able to see all the peanut butter we will have stored up as we travel through Central America.
After that we went out to Bourbon Street to see what all the "buzz" was about! Clubs were pumping out the live music and the street was packed! The only place where the street wasn't full of people there was a preacher in front of a cross for a local church. Urging for the people comitting sins like drinking and being a homosexual to repent. Obviously we didn't agree with that last one. We talked with a girl standing beside the preacher and she told us how some gays had been "cured" in their church. As we walked by Joel was debating if his pacifism was worth it or if he should fight the preacher. Sam and Josh went back early while Joel and I stayed for the rest of the night went to a few clubs and found a crazy amount of fried chicken!
